NIFT 2020

National Institute of Fashion Technology will conduct NIFT entrance exam in third week of January 2020 in pen and paper based mode. NIFT entrance exam is a gateway for getting admission in bachelor’s courses in Design (B. Des.) and Fashion Technology (B.F. Tech.). The qualified students will get admission in 16 campuses of NIFT across India. NIFT 2020 official notification is likely to be released in third week of October 2019. NIFT 2020 application form will be released in third week of October 2019 in online mode. Candidates can submit their forms till fourth week of December 2019. Candidates who wish to apply for NIFT exam, they have to fulfill the prescribed age and educational qualification criteria for the programme they opt. Students must note that the eligibility criteria for B.Des and B.FTech vary, but the age criterion is same for both the programmes. Age Criteria - Candidate should be 23 years as on 1st October, 2019. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Person with Disability (PWD) categories get five years of relaxation.

Students should have passed 10+2 exam from any recognized Central/ State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

Candidates should have cleared their 12th exam from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Students should have cleared Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

Students should hold 3 or 4-years diploma in any branch of Engineering recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education

NIFT Application Form 2020

The application form of NIFT 2020 can be filled from second fourth week of October to fourth week of December 2019. Candidates can fill NIFT 2020 application form with late fee from fourth week of December 2019 to first week of January 2020. The application fee for NIFT 2020 can be paid through online payment gateway or through bank demand draft issued in favour of “NIFT HO” payable at New Delhi.

  • The fee for General/OBC (Non-Creamy) Category- Rs. 2000 through payment gateway or demand draft

  • The fee for SC/ST/PHP Category- Rs.1000 through payment gateway or Demand Draft

How to fill NIFT Application Form 2020?

Students can follow the steps below to fill the application form of NIFT

  • New candidates should create login ID.

  • Candidates who have already logged in, they have to complete the process of filling online application form.

  • After submitting it, they have to check the status of their NIFT 2020 application.

  • After filling the application form, they can download their admit card also.

Applicants should not forget to keep a printout/photocopy of NIFT application form 2020 for future reference, along with the proof of payment.

NIFT 2020 Application Form Correction

Aspirants get opportunity to review and edit the information in their online application form before making the payment. Once the payment has been made, students will not be allowed to change/modify any information in the application form, excluding the exam centre. The window to edit the application form will open from fourth week of December 2019 to first week of January 2020. If any incorrect or false information is found at a later stage, then NIFT has the right to cancel the candidature. The details submitted after closing of the window to edit the application form cannot be edited later.

NIFT Exam Pattern 2020

The written test of NIFT 2020 consists of Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT), which evaluate the knowledge, abilities and design aptitude of test takers. Candidates who wish to take admission in B.Des. have to take both - CAT and GAT, while those looking for admission in B.F.Tech programme have to sit for GAT only. The qualified candidates in both CAT and GAT have to appear for situation test.

NIFT Syllabus 2020

Candidates should know that the syllabus for CAT and GAT is not the same. In GAT, the questions from quantitative ability, communication ability, English comprehension, leadership qualities, problem-solving approach, analytical & logical ability, general knowledge and current affairs are asked.In CAT, design & discernment abilities, observation power and creativity are assessed.

 

 

NIFT 2019

NIFT 2019 Application Form can be filled till 3rd January 2019 with late fee. NIFT conducts its own entrance exam on a national level for providing admission in its campus. It offers various UG & PG professional courses in the field of Design. The 16 affiliated campuses of the NIFT consider the NIFT entrance exam score to offer admissions. It is conducted once in a year. Candidates can check details of NIFT 2019 application form in this article.

 

Candidates are advised to fill the NIFT 2019 application form carefully as per the instruction given on the prospectus. Incorrect or improper applications will be rejected.

  • The application form has been released from 22nd October 2018.
  • The NIFT application 2019 can be filled through online mode only.
  • Candidates can fill the application form till 28th December 2018 and till 3rd January 2019 on payment of late fee.
  • The editing in application form will be commenced from the 29th December 2018 to 3rd January 2019.
  • Candidates those will pay the application fee through offline (DD) mode, have to send the filled-in application form along with DD to the address given below

 

Application Fee:

The application fee will be Rs. 2000/- (Rs. 1000/- for reserve categories). The fee can be submitted through credit card/debit card and net banking.

In case the payment through DD, it will be drawn in favour of “NIFT HO” payable at New Delhi. The application fee will be non-refundable in any case.

 

Eligibility Criteria

For applying in NIFT 2019, candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria given below:

 

Age Criteria:

  • No age limit to apply for PG courses.
  • The upper age limit for UG courses is 23 years as on 1st October 2018.
  • There is a 5 years of age relaxation for reserve category candidates (SC/ST/PwD).

Required Qualification:

  • For UG Courses: Candidates those passed/appearing their 12th exam from a recognized Central or State Board can apply. Those pass 3 or 4 years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education are also eligible to apply.
  • For PG Courses: Candidates should have bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university/institution. For M.Des, only the candidates those passed diploma from NID/NIFT can apply.

 

NIFT 2019 Application Correction

 

The correction facility will be provided by the authority from 29th December 2018 to till 3rd January 2019.

The candidates can access the correction facility to edit information submitted in the application form. However, candidates cannot change the preference of exam city center.

The correction/modification can be done in personal and education qualification details. Once the correction window will be closed, no candidates will be allowed for further correction.

 

How to Apply for NIFT Entrance Exam

  • Go to the official website (link will be given above).
  • Click on ‘Fresh Candidate to create Log In’ link.
  • Fill name, date of birth, email Id, category and programme applied for.
  • Enter the verification code and click on ‘Submit’ button.
  • After that click on ‘Proceed to Login’.
  • Enter email Id and DOB and click on ‘Login’ button.
  • Click on step 1 and start filling the details required.
  • Click on ‘Save’ button and proceed for step 2.
  • In this step, upload the scanned photograph and signature (not greater than 50 KB) in JPG/JPEG format.
  • After that click on ‘Next’ button.
  • Now, pay the fee by selecting any one of the payment mode.
  • Reference number will be sent to the candidates. Note down it and keep securely.

NIFT 2017 Application Form

  • Candidates will get the NIFT 2017 Application Form via online process through the official website of NIFT.
  • There is not any other mode is available to fill and submit the application form.
  • The application fee will be Rs.1500/- for General/OBC (Non-Creamy) Category and Rs.750/- for SC/ ST/ PHP candidates.
  • The fee payment will be done through online payment gateway or demand draft (DD) of any bank.

Eligibility for undergraduate courses:

  • The maximum age should be 23 years as on 1st October, 2016 for general candidates.
  • 5 years relaxation will be given on maximum age limit for SC, ST or Differently Abled Person (PHP) candidates.
  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent exam from any recognized central/state board.
  • Candidates who have cleared 3-4 year diploma recognized by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education are also eligible to apply.
  • Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply.

     

Eligibility for postgraduate courses:

  • There is not any minimum or maximum age limit for master programmes.
  • For M.Des and M.F.M programme, candidates must have passed an undergraduate degree from any institution/university recognized by law in India.
  • For M.F.Tech course, candidates should have cleared B.F.Tech. from NIFT or B.E/B.Tech from any institution/university recognized by law in India.
  • Candidates appearing in qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.

NIFT 2017 Result

The NIFT Result 2017 will be provided to students in the month of May/June, 2017. Candidates can check their results through the official portal of the authority. Candidates are required to visit the official website and enter their registration number/ roll number and click on submit button to generate results. Candidates are suggested to take printout of the result for further use.


Admission Process

After the written exam, candidates will be shortlisted to take Situation test/Group Discussion (GD) / Interview as applicable. The notification regarding counselling & admission will be available in the official website. Tentatively counselling will start from the month of June, 2017. For counselling procedure, candidates are required to bring the necessary documents along with their photocopies for the document verification process. After seat allotment candidates have to report to the allotted NIFT campus within the prescribed time and date for completing admission process.

    There will be three stages of admission viz. Paper Based Test (PBT), Situation Test, Group Discussion and Interview will be provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility criteria, NIFT said in a statement.

     

    “During verification at any time before or after the Written Test, Situation Test, Group Discussion and Interview (as the case may be), if it is found that candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, his/her candidature for the examination shall stand cancelled without any notice or further reference,” the statement said.

    NIFT 2016 Eligibility Criteria:

    Age Limit-

  • For Bachelor Programmes, maximum age limit is 23 years as on October 1, 2015. The upper age limit may be relaxed by a period of 5 years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribe/ Differently Abled Person (PHP) subject to following qualifications.

NIFT 2016 Result: Result of NIFT 2016 has declared for the candidates who appeared in the entrance exam. Candidates have been shortlisted for the next stage of admission on the basis of the NIFT result. 

NIFT 2016 Application Form:

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has started NIFT 2016 Application Form from October 20, 2015 for the candidates who wish to apply for NIFT 2016 entrance exam. Last date of submission of application form was January 10, 2016.
 

NIFT 2016 Application Feefor General / OBC (Non-Creamy) Category was Rs.1500/- and for SC / ST / PHP Category was Rs.750/- to be paid via payment gateway or Demand Draft.


NIFT 2016 Exam Centres: The NIFT 2016 entrance exam was conducted at 32 exam centres across the country. Candidates can check the list of all 32 exam centres/cities by clicking on the above link.


NIFT 2016 Admit Card: Admit Card of NIFT 2016 was made available for downloading to the candidates from January 21, 2016. NIFT did not send admit card by post to any candidate. Aspirants must download the admit card as is available online by official sources.

 

  • Mode of Exam: This exam will be conducted in offline mode (pen and paper mode).
  • Negative Marking: There will be no provision of negative marking.

NIFT Counselling 2019 - Schedule, Fee & Admission Procedure

 

NIFT Counselling 2019 will be organized by NIFT at the end of May. Candidates who will successfully qualify the exam will only participate in counselling process. It will be conducted in multiple rounds in 16 different campuses of NIFT. 

Students are required to register themselves separately at nift.ac.in. to participate in NIFT 2019 counselling. There is No registration fee for the first round of counselling. For subsequent rounds, candidates will have to pay INR 5000.

 

  • One can get registered using their credentials namely NIFT Form Number, Date of Birth (DOB) and Password.
  • While getting registered, candidates have to select a counselling campus they will participate in as well. 
  • Upon successful registration, a system generated letter will be issued to the candidate. The letter will contain details of the Nodal Officer and the documents required for counselling and admission process. 
  • Those who will fail to reach at counselling will forfeit their allocated seat.

Documents Required for NIFT Counselling 2019

Candidates, who are called for the NIFT 2019 counselling, must carry the below mentioned original documents along with their photocopies for admission procedure. After verification, NIFT will return the original certificates to them apart from the medical certificate.

Note- If any of the above-mentioned documents are in any other language than Hindi/English, then an authentic translation in English/Hindi should be produced duly verified by the issuing institution/gazetted officer/self-attested by the candidate at the time of NIFT Counselling 2019. A candidate failing to do so will not be considered for admissions. 

 

 

NIFT 2019 Counselling Process

Candidates have to follow the procedure given below to participate in the counselling.

  1. Registration
  • First of all candidates has to register themselves on the official website.
  • Without doing registration no candidate will be allowed to appear in the counselling rounds.
  • Candidates can register for the counselling by using their credentials, such as form number, date of birth and password.
  1. Campus Choice
  • At the time of registration, candidates have to fill the campus choice in which they want to appear in the counselling.
  • Candidates can select one of the 16 campuses of NIFT.
  1. Download Call Letter
  • After successful registration, a “system generated letter”, will be received by the candidate through SMS and e-mail on their registered mobile and email id.
  • The letter will contain the details of the Nodal Officer and the documents required for Counselling and Admission.
  1. Counselling
  • The counselling will take place on the campus, which is selected by the candidate through offline mode.
  • Candidates have to report the counselling center in a given reporting time for the document verification and allocation of seats.

Cancellation of NIFT Admission 2019

A candidate can face the cancellation of his/her candidature under the following circumstances:

  1. Qualifying NIFT Entrance Exam does not entitle a candidate with admission confirmation. 
  2. If the organizing authorities are not satisfied with the character, past behaviour or antecedents of the candidate, then there admission can be cancelled.
  3. Director of the Campus can cancel the admission granted to any candidate at any stage if it is found that the candidate has got admission in any Campus /Program on the basis of false information, or by hiding relevant facts. Also, if it is found that admission given due to any mistake or oversight the admission granted will be cancelled without any prior notice and at any time during the course of his studies. Fee deposited by the candidate will be forfeited.
  4. During verification, before or after the Written Test, Situation Test, Group Discussion and Interview (as the case may be), if it is found that candidate doesn’t fulfill the eligibility criteria, their candidature admission stands cancelled without any notice or further reference.
  5. A candidate must report to allotted NIFT Campus within 7 days of commencement of the session. If candidate fails to do so then the admission of the candidate gets cancelled without any intimation and the tuition fee paid will be forfeited.
  6. The Director General can cancel the admission of any student for specific reason or debar him for a certain period.
  7. Merit will be valid only for the programme for which the candidate has appeared. Admission to any other category/course will not be considered.

NIFT 2016 Important Dates – Candidates, who wish to get admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech) at the institute, must check the list of Important Dates of NIFT 2016. National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has specified all the NIFT 2016 Important Dates in a table, which have been published below for the convenience of the students.

Online Registration for NIFT 2016 entrance exam has started on October 20, 2015. Last date for Online Registration is January 10, 2016. Last date for online registration with late fee of Rs.5000/- is January 16, 2016. Written Entrance Examination for all Undergraduate Programmes are February 14, 2016. Admit card for the exam will be available from January 21, 2016.
 

Candidates must go through the list of the NIFT 2016 Important Dates so that they do not miss out any important event related to the admission procedure.

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) was set up in the year 1986 under the aegis of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. A Statutory Institute governed by the NIFT Act 2006 has branches at Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, Kangra, Kannur, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Patna, Rae Bareli and Shillong.


 

 


NIFT Programmes Offered & Seat Matrix

A total of 2,370 seats across B.Des. and B.FTech. programmes are allocated as per the set guidelines for seat reservation of NIFT admission 2020. The details are given in the table below:
