National Institute of Fashion Technology will conduct NIFT entrance exam in third week of January 2020 in pen and paper based mode. NIFT entrance exam is a gateway for getting admission in bachelor’s courses in Design (B. Des.) and Fashion Technology (B.F. Tech.). The qualified students will get admission in 16 campuses of NIFT across India. NIFT 2020 official notification is likely to be released in third week of October 2019. NIFT 2020 application form will be released in third week of October 2019 in online mode. Candidates can submit their forms till fourth week of December 2019. They can download NIFT 2020 admit card in online mode in second week of January. The authorities will release the result in February/March 2020. Around 2,370 seats across Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech) programmes will be allocated to the qualified candidates on merit basis. The application form of NIFT 2020 can be filled from second fourth week of October to fourth week of December 2019. Candidates can fill NIFT 2020 application form with late fee from fourth week of December 2019 to first week of January 2020. The application fee for NIFT 2020 can be paid through online payment gateway or through bank demand draft issued in favour of “NIFT HO” payable at New Delhi.

How to fill NIFT Application Form 2020?
Students can follow the steps below to fill the application form of NIFT
New candidates should create login ID.
Candidates who have already logged in, they have to complete the process of filling online application form.
After submitting it, they have to check the status of their NIFT 2020 application.
After filling the application form, they can download their admit card also.
Applicants should not forget to keep a printout/photocopy of NIFT application form 2020 for future reference, along with the proof of payment.
Aspirants get opportunity to review and edit the information in their online application form before making the payment. Once the payment has been made, students will not be allowed to change/modify any information in the application form, excluding the exam centre. The window to edit the application form will open from fourth week of December 2019 to first week of January 2020. If any incorrect or false information is found at a later stage, then NIFT has the right to cancel the candidature. The details submitted after closing of the window to edit the application form cannot be edited later.
The written test of NIFT 2020 consists of Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT), which evaluate the knowledge, abilities and design aptitude of test takers. Candidates who wish to take admission in B.Des. have to take both - CAT and GAT, while those looking for admission in B.F.Tech programme have to sit for GAT only. The qualified candidates in both CAT and GAT have to appear for situation test.
This test judges the intuitive ability, observation power in concept development and design ability of the test-takers. Most importantly, it evaluates the creative and innovative use of colour and illustration skills.

Candidates should know that the syllabus for CAT and GAT is not the same. In GAT, the questions from quantitative ability, communication ability, English comprehension, leadership qualities, problem-solving approach, analytical & logical ability, general knowledge and current affairs are asked.In CAT, design & discernment abilities, observation power and creativity are assessed.
NIFT 2019
NIFT 2019 Application Form can be filled till 3rd January 2019 with late fee. NIFT conducts its own entrance exam on a national level for providing admission in its campus. It offers various UG & PG professional courses in the field of Design. The 16 affiliated campuses of the NIFT consider the NIFT entrance exam score to offer admissions. It is conducted once in a year. Candidates can check details of NIFT 2019 application form in this article.
Candidates are advised to fill the NIFT 2019 application form carefully as per the instruction given on the prospectus. Incorrect or improper applications will be rejected.
The application fee will be Rs. 2000/- (Rs. 1000/- for reserve categories). The fee can be submitted through credit card/debit card and net banking.
In case the payment through DD, it will be drawn in favour of “NIFT HO” payable at New Delhi. The application fee will be non-refundable in any case.
For applying in NIFT 2019, candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria given below:
The correction facility will be provided by the authority from 29th December 2018 to till 3rd January 2019.
The candidates can access the correction facility to edit information submitted in the application form. However, candidates cannot change the preference of exam city center.
The correction/modification can be done in personal and education qualification details. Once the correction window will be closed, no candidates will be allowed for further correction.

The NIFT Result 2017 will be provided to students in the month of May/June, 2017. Candidates can check their results through the official portal of the authority. Candidates are required to visit the official website and enter their registration number/ roll number and click on submit button to generate results. Candidates are suggested to take printout of the result for further use.
After the written exam, candidates will be shortlisted to take Situation test/Group Discussion (GD) / Interview as applicable. The notification regarding counselling & admission will be available in the official website. Tentatively counselling will start from the month of June, 2017. For counselling procedure, candidates are required to bring the necessary documents along with their photocopies for the document verification process. After seat allotment candidates have to report to the allotted NIFT campus within the prescribed time and date for completing admission process.

Latest: NIFT 2016 Result has been declared.
There will be three stages of admission viz. Paper Based Test (PBT), Situation Test, Group Discussion and Interview will be provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility criteria, NIFT said in a statement.
“During verification at any time before or after the Written Test, Situation Test, Group Discussion and Interview (as the case may be), if it is found that candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, his/her candidature for the examination shall stand cancelled without any notice or further reference,” the statement said.

NIFT 2016 Eligibility Criteria:
Age Limit-
For Bachelor Programmes, maximum age limit is 23 years as on October 1, 2015. The upper age limit may be relaxed by a period of 5 years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribe/ Differently Abled Person (PHP) subject to following qualifications.
Academic Qualification-
For Bachelor of Design (B.Des), candidates must have passed the 10+2 level examination.
For Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech), candidates must have passed the 10+2 level examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
NIFT 2016 Result: Result of NIFT 2016 has declared for the candidates who appeared in the entrance exam. Candidates have been shortlisted for the next stage of admission on the basis of the NIFT result.
NIFT 2016 Application Form:
National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has started NIFT 2016 Application Form from October 20, 2015 for the candidates who wish to apply for NIFT 2016 entrance exam. Last date of submission of application form was January 10, 2016.
NIFT 2016 Application Feefor General / OBC (Non-Creamy) Category was Rs.1500/- and for SC / ST / PHP Category was Rs.750/- to be paid via payment gateway or Demand Draft.

NIFT 2016 Admit Card: Admit Card of NIFT 2016 was made available for downloading to the candidates from January 21, 2016. NIFT did not send admit card by post to any candidate. Aspirants must download the admit card as is available online by official sources.

NIFT Counselling 2019 will be organized by NIFT at the end of May. Candidates who will successfully qualify the exam will only participate in counselling process. It will be conducted in multiple rounds in 16 different campuses of NIFT.
Students are required to register themselves separately at nift.ac.in. to participate in NIFT 2019 counselling. There is No registration fee for the first round of counselling. For subsequent rounds, candidates will have to pay INR 5000.
